Washing my daughter's hair was a lot less painless with this product.
My five year old daughter has the most lush, long brunette hair, but it's really hard to keep neat and tidy. Iíve tried lots of different childrenís shampoos but this week we found the best one so far, Childís Farm 2-in-1 Shampoo and Conditioner. It was part of a cute little sample pack that included some of their other products, such as moisturiser and body wash.
Childís Farm is made in the UK, where I grew up until my early teens, but their products are available to purchase at Coles and Woolworths here in Australia. Scented with organic rhubarb and custard, the smell alone was enough to transport me back to one of my favourite childhood desserts - rhubarb crumble and custard. Divine!
Any shampoo we use has to contend with this head of hair!
Some childrenís shampoos are no better than detergent, with zero volume and they do nothing to de-tangle my daughterís hair, especially after her swimming lessons. I usually have to use a conditioner separately after shampoo to help de-tangle it before brushing, which I prefer not to do, because as all parents will know, hair washing often causes tears and tantrums, and I want it to be over with as soon as possible!
With Childís Farm the liquid was thick and easy to work into her hair. A small dollop covered her whole hair, from the scalp to the tips. It was easy to wash out and didnít leave a greasy residue in her hair. Most importantly, when it was time to brush afterwards (usually the most difficult part of the process) it was smooth and almost knot free. Given my daughterís hair length, there will always be some knots, but after using Childís Farm, there definitely didnít seem to be as many. Plus I realised they also have de-tangling spray which I plan to get on my next grocery shopping trip.
Their range of products are suitable for everyone, including newborns. They are dermatologist and paediatrician approved, and suitable for people with sensitive skin and eczema. They are also certified with Cruelty Free International and registered with The Vegan Society. If you have a child with hair as thick as mine, or maybe a child with curls, I would suggest trying it out. If you want to test it before you buy a big bottle, try purchasing one of their sample packs first like I did, or their essentials set which has mini versions of other products such as sunscreen and bubble bath. You might find you become a fan of those too.
