As a mum of 2 children, I read an awful lot of books; and many are touching and hilarious. A lot of them though are really quite boring and have me wondering, how on earth did this get published? It's so hard to read books that I find boring, night after night.
The Oi! books by Kes Gray are funny, clever and quirky. I never get tired of reading them which is great, because my children also find them just as entertaining and insist on reading them regularly.
There are six books in the Oi! series:
* Oi Frog! * Oi Dog! * Oi Cat! * Oi Duck Billed Platypus! * Oi Aardvark! * Oi Puppies!
They are all rhyming tales about where animals should be sitting:
"Cats sit on mats, hares sit on chairs, mules sit on stools and gofers sit on sofas, but Frog does not want to sit on a log! Jam-packed with animals and silliness, this original rhyming story will have young children in fits of laughter. - excerpt from Kes Gray website
The rhymes have a really great rhythm to them, that you just can't help but giggle. The 3 main characters of cat, dog and frog appear in every book and take each other on in a bit of a battle of wills. The frog and cat keep trying to outsmart each other, while the dog is just a big loveable guy.

You can buy these books at pretty much any department store (Kmart and Big W etc) or online at places like Booktopia or Book Depository. I found them cheapest at Big W for $10 each.
My son (who does like reading but find it hard to sit still) will often use the rhyming found in the book in his day to day life. He quite likes to tell me that "Mums sit on bums"!
