I have been using One Handed Cooks as the food inspiration for my family for over 3 years. With an active Facebook page, website, 2 incredible cookbooks and even a series of e-books, it's a great resource for baby, toddler, children and family cooking.
One Handed Cook's philosophy is to help kids become happy, healthy eaters from day 1. The recipes cover all stages of childhood, from baby led weaning to purees, healthy snacks, breakfast ideas, lunch box options, family meals and party foods (designed for 'sometimes' consumption) for birthdays.
The recipes are written by mums, overseen by an accredited practising dietitian, and cater for kids with food allergies and intolerances. Most importantly though, the food is fun, colourful and designed to be enjoyed by children, with the hope of creating lifelong healthy eating habits.
When I was a first time mum and about to introduce solids to my baby, I was overwhelmed and it was my child health nurse who recommended these books to me. Each chapter has a lot of information about nutrition and eating habits.
They also have a new cookbook called Boosting Your Basics, and some of my favourite recipes from their include:
Choc Crunch Muesli
Drive Through Chicken Nuggets
No Beef Burgers
Fish and Veggie Crumble
Hulk Smash Mini Pizzas
Another thing I love about One Handed Cooks is that many of their recipes are designed to be frozen and stored. This makes packing lunchboxes so much easier, with a stockpile of meals and snacks in my freezer.
The Sultana Oat Pancakes are a firm favourite in my house so I make them a few times a month and freeze them too!
One Handed Cooks helps me plan my meals without needing to look at lots of different websites and book. It's a one-stop recipe reference for me.
